Astros 4, Brewers 2

Brett Myers continued his superb pitching with seven impressive innings and Carlos Lee drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Houston Astros kept rolling with a 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in the first of a three-game series on Monday.

Jeff Keppinger had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Astros, who have won 24 of their last 35 home games and 16-of-22 overall.

Myers (12-7) extended his club record to 30 straight starts to begin a season with at least six innings pitched. He yielded just Corey Hart’s 26th home run of the season in the fourth among six hits, walked one and struck out 10. The right-hander improved to 7-1 in his last 14 starts, and he has allowed only three runs or fewer in 13 of those outings.

Carlos Gomez singled home a run in the eighth for the Brewers, but Matt Lindstrom closed out the game for his 23rd save.

Milwaukee starter Chris Narveson matched Myers through six innings, yielding just a run, six hits and two walks against seven strikeouts.

Lee delivered a two-out line single to center to snap the tie against Brandon Kintzler (0-1) in the seventh. Chris Johnson followed with a ground single to plate another run and Tommy Manzella drew a bases-loaded walk two batters later to cap the scoring.

Milwaukee first baseman Prince Fielder missed the game with flu-like symptoms, snapping the major leagues’ longest active consecutive game streak at 327.
