Phillies 1, Brewers 0

Cole Hamels tossed seven scoreless innings and Shane Victorino scored on a groundout by Carlos Ruiz as the Philadelphia Phillies posted their fifth straight victory with a 1-0 triumph over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday.

Philadelphia (77-58) managed just four hits to record its seventh win in its last eight contests - but it was a far cry from Thursday's slugfest. The Phillies benefited from a nine-run seventh inning to rally to a 12-11 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Hamels (9-10) didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning in this one. The 2008 World Series Most Valuable Player allowed just three hits overall and struck out seven to extend his scoreless streak to 18 2/3 innings.

Jose Contreras fanned two in the eighth inning and Ryan Madson retired the side in order in the ninth to secure his fifth save of the season.

Chris Capuano (2-3) pitched well in a losing effort. The 32-year-old left-hander permitted just one runs and four hits in five innings to take the loss.

Milwaukee (62-72) has dropped four in a row and eight of its last 11.
