Brewers 6, Phillies 2
Prince Fielder belted a three-run homer and Randy Wolf tossed six-plus strong innings as the Milwaukee Brewers snapped a five-game winning streak with a 6-2 triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.
Corey Hart slapped an RBI double, Rickie Weeks had an RBI single and Ryan Braun scored twice for Milwaukee (63-73), which was able to salvage just one of its six games against Philadelphia this season.
Wolf (11-10) allowed two runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings to pick up the win.
Zach Braddock finished off the seventh and John Axford tossed two scoreless frames to end the game.
Carlos Ruiz belted a two-run double and Chase Utley had two hits for Philadelphia (78-59), which saw its five-game winning streak come to an end.
The setback also proved costly as a win would have tied the Phillies with the Atlanta Braves atop the NL East. Atlanta dropped a 7-6 decision to the Florida Marlins in 10 innings earlier on Sunday.
Kyle Kendrick (9-8) permitted five runs and seven hits in four innings to take the loss.
