Cody Ross hit two home runs off Roy Halladay, and Tim Lincecum outpitched Philadelphia's ace, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 4-3 road win in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park.
When Ross hit his first solo shot to give the Giants a 1-0 lead in the third, it was the first hit off Halladay in 11 2/3 postseason innings. San Francisco's No. 8 hitter added another solo homer in the fifth.
The Giants padded the lead to 4-1 with two runs in the sixth, scoring on Pat Burrell's RBI double and Juan Uribe's RBI single.
Halladay (0-1) allowed four runs on eight hits and struck out seven over seven innings. He dropped to 0-4 in four career starts against the Giants.
Lincecum (1-0) lasted seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits for his second win in two postseason starts. He walked three and struck out eight.
Brian Wilson recorded four outs for the save, all strikeouts.
All of Philadelphia's runs came on home runs - a solo shot by Carlos Ruiz in the fourth and a two-run homer by Jayson Werth in the sixth.
San Francisco's Jonathan Sanchez is set to pitch against Roy Oswalt in Game 2 on Sunday night.
