Blue Jays 7, Red Sox 6 (10)

Rajai Davis singled, stole second and third and scored on a sacrifice fly by David Cooper to provide the Toronto Blue Jays a 7-6 win over the Boston Red Sox in 10 innings at the Rogers Centre Tuesday night.

Cooper also hit his first major league homer as Toronto snapped a three-game losing streak. Jose Bautista hit his 11th homer and J.P Arencibia also went deep for the Blue Jays, who led on three different occasions in the game.

Carlos Villanueva (1-0) picked up the win in relief.

Adrian Gonzalez homered twice and David Ortiz had a homer and three of Boston’s 16 hits.

Jon Lester, who had won four straight starts, allowed five runs on seven hits and five walks in 5 1/3 innings. Matt Albers (0-1) took the loss.

Boston’s three-game winning streak came to an end and it failed to reach the .500 mark for the season once again. Boston has not been at .500 since Opening Day.
