Red Sox 6, Athletics 3

Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez both homered to lift the Red Sox to a 6-3 win over the Oakland Athletics at Fenway Park on Sunday afternoon.

Crawford belted a three-run homer, his fifth, in the second inning to give the Red Sox a 3-0 lead. Gonzalez smacked his 12th homer, a two-run shot in the fourth inning, as Boston capped a three-game series sweep of the A’s.

John Lackey (3-5), making his first start since coming off the disabled list with an elbow injury, earned his first victory since April 24. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on three hits.

Daniel Bard pitched the ninth for his first save of the season.

Kevin Kouzmanoff homered for Oakland, loser of six straight games. Brett Anderson (3-6) took the loss, surrendering five runs on nine hits in five innings.
