Red Sox 7, Astros 5

Adrian Gonzalez' two-run double capped Boston's six-run seventh inning as the visiting Red Sox rallied past the Houston Astros 7-5 on Friday night.

Boston, which trailed 5-1 entering the seventh, sent 11 men to the plate and recorded six hits to spoil a solid outing from Houston starter Bud Norris. Boston got an RBI double from Josh Reddick and an run-scoring infield hit from Drew Sutton before Dustin Pedroia's two-run single tied the game at 5 and Gonzalez' hit made it 7-5.

Norris struck out 10 and left with his team leading 5-2. Sergio Escalona (1-1) was charged with the loss after he allowed Sutton's single and hit Darnell McDonald with a pitch.

Dan Wheeler (1-1) picked up the win in relief for Boston and Jonathan Papelbon pitched the ninth for his 16th save. Starter Tim Wakefield allowed five runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Marco Scutaro hit his third home run to lead off the game for the Red Sox.

Houston got two hits from six different players. Hunter Pence drove in two runs and Michael Bourn scored twice.
