Indians 6, Orioles 5
Lonnie Chisenhall's RBI single provided the difference as the visiting Cleveland Indians held on for a 6-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Friday evening.
Matt LaPorta led off the sixth inning with a double against Baltimore reliever Jim Johnson (5-3), and Chisenhall drove him in when he knocked a 1-0 pitch into right center field.
Five Cleveland relievers held the Orioles scoreless the rest of the way, locking up the win for starter Josh Tomlin (11-4). Chris Perez worked the ninth for his 22nd save.
Matt Wieters and Nolan Reimold hit solo home runs in the second to give the Orioles a 2-1 lead. Asdrubal Cabrera put the Indians back ahead in the third with a two-run homer.
Grady Sizemore gave Cleveland a 5-3 advantage with a two-run shot in the top of the fifth before Adam Jones answered with a homer in the bottom of the frame to tie it.
Tomlin was victorious despite allowing five runs on six hits in five innings. Baltimore starter Jake Arrieta gave up five runs on eight hits in five innings, walking three and striking out four.
