Felix Pie ripped a two-run double in the eighth inning, and Adam Jones also drove in a pair for Baltimore, which posted just its second victory in 16 contests.
Kevin Gregg yielded a bases-clearing double to Orlando Cabrera in the ninth to cut Baltimore's lead to one run, but Michael Gonzalez retired Grady Sizemore to end the game.
Making his fifth career start, Alfredo Simon (2-2) allowed two runs on three hits in seven innings to pick up the win.
Michael Brantley collected a two-run double in the sixth inning for American League Central-leading Cleveland, which saw its six-game winning streak over the Orioles end.
Carlos Carrasco (8-7) permitted three runs on five hits in seven innings to suffer his third straight loss.
