Orioles 3, Angels 2
Adam Jones homered and also drove in the go-ahead run, and Brad Bergesen won for the first time since May 14 as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the visiting Los Angeles Angels 3-2 on Saturday night.
Jones hit a leadoff homer in the fourth and knocked in Craig Tatum with a sacrifice fly in the fifth to make it 3-2 as Baltimore snapped the Angels’ three-game winning streak.
Bergesen (2-6) allowed two runs and six runs in six innings. Jim Johnson pitched the seventh, Koji Uehara worked the eighth and Kevin Gregg struck out Howard Kendrick with the tying run on second with two outs in the ninth for his 16th save.
Vernon Wells hit a two-run homer in the first for Los Angeles.
Baltimore's Nick Markakis singled in the tying run off Joel Pineiro (5-5) in the fifth. Pineiro gave up three runs and 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
The Angels' Erick Aybar and the Orioles' J.J. Hardy had three hits apiece.
The Orioles placed outfielder Luke Scott (shoulder) on the disabled list Saturday. He will miss the rest of the season.
