Angels 7, Orioles 1
Jerome Williams pitched seven strong innings for his first major-league victory in nearly six years as the Los Angeles Angeles completed a three-game sweep of the visiting Baltimore Orioles with a 7-1 victory Sunday.
Making his first start and second appearance since 2007, Williams (1-0) allowed one run on six hits and struck out six to earn his first major-league win since beating the Houston Astros on Sept. 25, 2005, as a member of the Chicago Cubs.
Peter Bourjos hit a two-run homer and had three RBIs to power the Angels to their fourth straight victory and pull them within four games of division-leading Texas in the AL West.
Howie Kendrick also homered for Los Angeles, which sent the reeling Orioles to their fifth consecutive defeat and dropped them a season-worst 30 games below .500.
Brian Matusz (1-6) lost his sixth consecutive start as Baltimore tumbled to its AL-high 42nd loss on the road. Matt Wieters homered for the Orioles' lone run.
