Orioles 8, Twins 1
Nolan Reimold belted a three-run homer, and Mark Reynolds had three hits and three RBIs to power the visiting Baltimore Orioles to an 8-1 rout of the skidding Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.
Alfredo Simon (4-6) ended a three-game winless stretch by limiting the Twins to one run on three hits in a season-high eight innings. He also matched a season best with seven strikeouts.
Reimold's blast off Brian Duensing capped a four-run second inning and Reynolds had a two-run triple in the third as Baltimore built a 7-0 lead. It was the first triple for Reynolds since July 19, 2010.
Duensing (8-13) lost his fifth consecutive start. He was battered for seven runs on nine hits in two-plus innings.
J.J. Hardy and Vlad Guerrero added three hits apiece for the Orioles, with Hardy extending his hitting streak to six games.
Danny Valencia homered for the Twins, who lost their third straight and fell to 5-15 in August.
