Royals 7, White Sox 6 (12)

Melky Cabrera's RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning lifted Kansas City to its fourth straight victory, 7-6 over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.

Chris Getz led off with a base hit against reliever Tony Pena (0-1) and moved to second on a sacrifice by Mike Aviles before Cabrera drove him home with a base hit up the middle.

Jeremy Jeffress (1-0) got the victory in relief after he retired the last two Chicago batters in the top of the 12th.

Kansas City (4-1) erased a 6-4 deficit on Billy Butler's two-run homer off Chris Sale with one out in the eighth. Chicago had taken the lead in the top of the sixth when Alexei Ramirez tripled Carlos Quentin home and scored on an error.

The White Sox (2-2) jumped on Royals starter Jeff Francis early with Paul Konerko's three-run shot highlighting a four-run first inning.

Kansas City made it 4-2 in the bottom of the first on an Alex Gordon homer, and Cabrera's two-run single an inning later tied the game.
