Rays 5, White Sox 0
David Price pitched eight shutout innings and Felipe Lopez drove in three runs as the host Tampa Bay Rays blanked the reeling Chicago White Sox 5-0 on Monday evening.
The Rays (7-9) jumped on top with three runs in the first against Edwin Jackson (2-1). Lopez delivered a two-out RBI single, and scored on Ben Zobrist's two-run homer.
Price (2-2) wouldn't need any more support. He struck out nine, and allowed four hits and two walks on 114 pitches.
Lopez picked up another two-out RBI in the fifth when he doubled in Matt Joyce and added a solo homer against Matt Thornton in the eighth to finish 3-for-4. Sam Fuld added four hits for Tampa Bay.
Jackson scattered 11 hits over seven innings and struck out three for Chicago (7-9), which has lost five consecutive games.
