Carlos Quentin homered and drove in five runs, and Edwin Jackson pitched seven shutout innings to lead the Chicago White Sox to an 8-0 victory over the host Los Angeles Angels on Monday.
Quentin had run-scoring doubles in the third and fifth innings, and broke the game open with a three-run homer off reliever Trevor Bell during a four-run seventh as Chicago won its third straight game.
Jackson (3-4) gave up five hits, walked one and struck out five, and broke a personal four-game losing streak.
Gordon Beckham and Alexei Ramirez also homered for the White Sox, who had 11 hits. Beckham hit a two-run homer in the second and Ramirez knocked Ervin Santana (1-4) out of the game with a leadoff homer in the seventh.
Adam Dunn doubled and Paul Konerko walked before Quentin blasted his eighth homer of the season over the center-field fence to make it 8-0.
Santana (1-4) gave up five runs and eight hits in six-plus innings.
