Dodgers 6, White Sox 4 (10)

Juan Castro's single in the 10th inning drove home the go-ahead run as the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for a 6-4 victory over the White Sox in Chicago on Friday night.

After Russ Mitchell tied it in the bottom of the ninth with a two-out solo homer against Chicago closer Sergio Santos (2-1), the Dodgers got a leadoff single from Jamey Carroll in the 10th. Andre Ethier lined out to center, but Matt Kemp and Castro delivered back-to-back base hits to put the visitors in front. James Loney added an RBI double and Jay Gibbons followed with a bases-loaded single to add insurance runs.

Santos had opened the year with 20 2/3 scoreless innings before surrendering the home run to Mitchell.

Kenley Jansen (1-0) earned the win after holding Chicago scoreless in the eighth and ninth innings. The White Sox scored on an RBI groundout by Adam Dunn in the bottom of the 10th, but righthander Mike MacDougal got the final out for his first save.

Kemp had given the Dodgers a 2-0 lead with a first-inning home run before Chicago came back with three runs in the second. Alex Rios scored on a ground-rule double by Ramon Castro, and Gordon Beckham followed with a two-run homer off Ted Lilly.

Philip Humber worked seven strong innings for the White Sox, giving up five hits and two runs while striking out four. Lilly allowed seven hits and three runs in his seven innings for Los Angeles, striking out five.
