White Sox 9, Dodgers 2

Paul Konerko drove in three runs against former teammate Jon Garland to help the Chicago White Sox to an easy 9-2 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday afternoon.

Chicago broke open a 1-1 game with six runs in the fourth inning off Garland (1-4). Alex Rios opened the surge with a two-run homer to left, and Alexei Ramirez and Konerko each singled home two more runs to put the game out of reach. Konerko also had an RBI single in the first inning.

Mark Buehrle (4-3) pitched seven strong innings for the win, allowing two runs on seven hits. Garland lasted just 3 2/3 innings, surrendering 11 hits and seven runs, all earned.

Brent Lillibridge added a two-run homer in the seventh to cap the Chicago scoring. Jerry Sands hit a solo shot in the sixth for Los Angeles, his first major-league home run.
