White Sox 8, Dodgers 3
Alexei Ramirez went 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs, leading the Chicago White Sox to a 8-3 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday afternoon.
Ramirez put Chicago on top for good with a two-run homer against Hiroki Kuroda (5-4) in the first inning. He drove in another run with a double in the second, then added an RBI single in the fourth to make it 5-0. Los Angeles scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning to get within three, but Ramirez finished off his day with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the eighth.
A.J. Pierzynski added a solo homer in the first for the White Sox, who also got three hits from Juan Pierre. Dodgers right fielder Andre Ethier left the game in the fourth inning after crashing into the wall on a Pierre double.
Edwin Jackson (4-5) worked 5 2/3 innings for the win, allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven. Kuroda gave up six runs - four earned - on nine hits in his 5 2/3 innings.
