Rangers 2, White Sox 1

C.J. Wilson turned in a quality start and the bullpen recorded three scoreless innings to help the Texas Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas.

Wilson (5-3) allowed one run on five hits with no walks and five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings. It’s the first start Wilson has made without issuing a walk.

Mark Lowe, Darren Oliver and Neftali Feliz closed out the game. Feliz picked up his 10th save of the season, although he made it interesting.

With one out in the ninth, Feliz issued consecutive walks to Carlos Quentin and Paul Konerko, but got out of the jam by retiring Alex Rios and A.J. Pierzynski.

The Rangers took a 2-0 lead in the third. David Murphy reached on an error to lead off the inning, followed by a ground-rule double by Yorvit Torrealba. Mitch Moreland brought in Murphy with a sacrifice fly, and Ian Kinsler’s single scored Torrealba.

The White Sox pulled to within a run in the seventh on an RBI single by Konerko.

White Sox starter Gavin Floyd (5-4) pitched well, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with a walk and five strikeouts over seven innings.
