Tigers 7, White Sox 3
Ryan Raburn's grand slam highlighted a six-run fourth inning as Detroit rolled past the Chicago White Sox, 7-3, on Sunday afternoon for its sixth win in seven games.
Chicago took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but the Tigers came roaring back in the fourth against Jake Peavy (2-1). Victor Martinez opened the barrage with a sacrifice fly, and after Andy Dirks doubled home a run and Alex Avila walked to load the bases with two out, Raburn took the first pitch from Peavy over the left-field wall.
Brad Penny (5-4) earned the win, scattering eight hits and two walks over five innings while striking out five. Peavy lasted just four innings in defeat, giving up three hits and three walks.
Miguel Cabrera added a solo home run in the sixth inning for the Tigers.
Paul Konerko opened the scoring with a first-inning RBI double for Chicago, while Gordon Beckham had a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth.
