Royals 4, White Sox 1
Rookie Eric Hosmer belted his third homer in four games and Bruce Chen tossed six solid innings as the Kansas City Royals took two of three from the Chicago White Sox with a 4-1 road triumph on Wednesday afternoon.
Jeff Francoeur drove in All-Star hopeful Alex Gordon with both an RBI single in the fourth inning and a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Francoeur has eight RBIs in his last four games.
Chen (5-2) allowed one run on four hits and struck out four to record his first career victory over the White Sox. He has now defeated 28 of the 30 major league teams, save for the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves.
Greg Holland tossed two scoreless innings to bridge the gap to Joakim Soria, who retired the side in the ninth for his 15th save of the season.
Edwin Jackson (5-7) yielded four runs for the third time in four games to suffer the loss.
Adam Dunn had a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning for Chicago, which has lost three of its last four and fell to 7-13 against its American League Central rivals this season. The upcoming schedule has the White Sox facing only division opponents until July 29.
