White Sox 5, Royals 4

Omar Vizquel scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning as the Chicago White Sox edged the visiting Kansas City Royals 5-4 on Saturday night.

Vizquel came around to score after Aaron Crow walked home Alejandro de Aza with the bases loaded, Chicago's third free pass of the inning.

The White Sox held on over the final two innings, fending off a Kansas City rally in the eighth when Jesse Crain (7-3) wriggled out of a two-on, none-out situation by inducing Salvador Perez to hit into an inning-ending double play.

Crain earned the victory with 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief while Chris Sale worked a perfect ninth inning for his fourth save.

Royals starter Luke Hochevar (8-9) suffered his first loss since the All-Star break - he was charged with five runs on eight hits over six innings.

White Sox counterpart Jake Peavy surrendered four runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings.

Paul Konerko and Tyler Flowers homered for the White Sox, while Kansas City's Billy Butler drove in a pair of runs for the second straight game.
