White Sox 6, Royals 2

John Danks carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and Brent Lillibridge belted a three-run homer as the Chicago White Sox cruised past the visiting Kansas City Royals 6-2 Sunday afternoon.

Danks (5-9) held the Royals without a hit until Billy Butler reached base on a ball hit to Lillibridge that was originally ruled an error. It was changed shortly after, drawing boos from the Chicago crowd.

Danks surrendered two runs on four hits over six innings for just his second victory in the last six starts. He walked four and struck out six.

Lillibridge's 10th homer of the campaign highlighted a four-run first inning, and Chicago cruised from there to win the weekend series against the Royals.

Mitch Maier's two-run single in the sixth provided the lone offense for Kansas City.

Royals starter Jeff Francis (4-13) fell to 1-7 in his last 11 starts after allowing six runs on 10 hits over 3 2/3 innings.

Kansas City third baseman Mike Moustakas went 0-for-3 and is hitless in 34 at-bats against the White Sox this season.
