White Sox 3, Rangers 2
Alex Rios hit an RBI double with one out in the eighth inning to snap a tie and lift the Chicago White Sox to a 3-2 home victory over the American League West-leading Texas Rangers on Saturday.
Koji Uehara (1-3) began the eighth for Texas in relief of Alexi Ogando, who yielded two runs over seven innings, and allowed a one-out single by Paul Konerko. Rios followed with a double to left field, scoring pinch-runner Brent Lillibridge all the way from first for a 3-2 edge.
Jesse Crain (8-3) pitched a scoreless eighth and Sergio Santos worked the ninth for his 26th save in 30 opportunities this season.
Chicago halted its three-game skid but lost right fielder Carlos Quentin, who left the game after injuring his left shoulder while making a diving catch in the first inning.
Alexei Ramirez and Juan Pierre had RBI singles for the White Sox, who remained five games behind the first-place Detroit Tigers in the AL Central.
Ian Kinsler recorded his third two-homer performance of the season for Texas, which fell to 7-2 on its 10-game road trip and lost for just the third time in 13 contests overall. The Rangers are now five games ahead of the Angels in the AL West.
