White Sox 6, Royals 3
Alex Rios and Brent Morel homered, and John Danks continued his mastery of the Kansas City Royals as the host Chicago White Sox won 6-3 Saturday.
Rios lined a second-inning cutter into the left-field bullpen for a two-run homer off Everett Teaford (2-1). Morel drilled a high fastball for a solo shot in the fourth.
Danks (8-12) was perfect through four innings. He ended up striking out eight over 7 1/3 innings, and improved to 5-0 over his last nine outings against the Royals.
The White Sox snapped a five-game home skid in which they had batted .200. Kansas City lost for just the third time in 12 games.
The Royals entered on an 11-game tear in which they had hit .323 with runners in scoring position. But they mustered just six hits, highlighted by Melky Cabrera’s two-run double in the fifth.
