Nick Swisher hit a two-run home run and Jorge Posada and Mark Teixeira added solo shots as the New York Yankees rallied for a 6-4 victory over the visiting Colorado Rockies on Sunday.
Eduardo Núñez and Alex Rodriguez added run-scoring singles to help the Yankees maintain a half-game lead over Boston atop the AL East. Rodriguez extended his hitting streak to seven games and RBI streak to six.
Boone Logan (2-2) pitched one inning and Mariano Rivera finished up for his 20th save to wrap up New York’s 12th win in 16 games. Matt Belisle (5-3) took the loss.
Ty Wigginton belted two homers, giving him five in four games, and Chris Iannetta hit a solo shot for Colorado (38-39), which dropped back below .500.
Rockies starter Juan Nicasio lost his perfect game, no-hitter, shutout and the lead in a span of three batters in the fifth, when Swisher went deep and Posada followed with a solo blast to tie it at 3-3. Nicasio allowed four runs on four hits in five-plus innings.
Yankees starter Ivan Nova gave up four runs on six hits in six innings.
