Carlos Carrasco won his third straight start and Matt LaPorta homered, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 7-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday.
Carrasco (4-2) allowed two runs in six innings. The righthander gave up six hits, struck out four and didn't walk a batter.
James Shields (5-3) allowed three runs and seven hits in seven innings. He struck out eight and walked three.
The Rays scored a run in the ninth against Rafael Perez, but Chirs Perez recorded his 14th save in 15 opportunities.
The Indians (31-18) scored two runs in the first on Asdrubal Cabrera's RBI triple and a sacrifice fly by Carlos Santana. LaPorta, who struck out in all four at-bats Friday, hit a solo home run in the second that gave Cleveland a 3-0 lead.
Evan Longoria, moved to the leadoff spot by manager Joe Maddon, homered to center in the third. Longoria, who entered the game in a 4-for-33 slump, also singled in the first.
Tampa Bay (27-24) added a run in the fourth on Sean Rodriguez's safety-squeeze bunt.
Leading 3-2 in the eighth, the Indians scored four times on Shelley Duncan's two-run, pinch-hit single with the bases loaded and Orlando Cabrera's two-run single.
