Twins 7, Rays 0

Brian Duensing recorded his second career complete-game shutout as the Minnesota Twins cruised to a 7-0 victory over the visiting Tampa Bay Rays on Monday afternoon.

Duensing (6-7), who is 2-0 against the Rays this season, allowed six hits and struck out seven. He threw a season-high 119 pitches.

Danny Valencia had three hits - including a three-run homer in the eighth off reliever Adam Russell - as Minnesota posted its fifth win in six games.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka singled in a pair of runs in the second to give the Twins the lead for good and Ben Revere followed with an RBI groundout for a 3-0 lead. Michael Cuddyer hit a 443-foot home run to lead off the third.

Tampa Bay put its leadoff batter on base in four of the first five innings, but could not score. The Twins helped Duensing out with double plays in the first two frames.

Rays starter David Price (8-7) gave up five hits and four runs in six innings.
