Twins 4, Rays 2

Ben Revere had two hits and scored twice, and Michael Cuddyer knocked in a pair of runs as the host Minnesota Twins held on to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 on Tuesday night for their sixth win in seven games.

Twins starter Scott Baker (7-5) allowed three hits and one unearned run over five innings before leaving with a mild strain in his right elbow.

Cuddyer knocked in Revere with a ground out in the first inning. He also delivered an RBI single in the third to score Revere and, when the ball got by Rays right fielder Matt Joyce, Alexi Casilla came home to give the Twins a 3-0 lead.

B.J. Upton led off the ninth with a solo home run off closer Matt Capps. With two outs and two on, Glen Perkins got Johnny Damon to ground out to end the game for his second save.

Rays starter James Shields (8-6) gave up six hits and three runs - two earned - in six innings. Shields picked off two runners to give him 10 on the season.

Ben Zobrist had three hits for the Rays, who have lost five of eight.
