Josh Willingham homered to lead off the top of the 10th inning and the visiting Oakland A’s held on for a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday afternoon.

Willingham (two hits) belted his 17th of the season into the left-field stands on a 3-2 pitch from Jake McGee (0-1), helping to give the A’s their first road series win since May 24-26.

David DeJesus had three hits, scored twice and Hideki Matsui added a two-run homer in the fifth for Oakland, extending his hitting streak to 15 games.

Desmond Jennings had three singles and an RBI and Casey Kotchman delivered a solo homer and two singles for the Rays.

Fautino De Los Santos (1-0) pitched the ninth for his first career win. Andrew Bailey earned his 13th save, stranding two runners in the 10th.

Oakland starter Trevor Cahill allowed three runs on six hits over six innings, leaving with a 4-3 lead. Evan Longoria tied it in the seventh with a solo home run off reliever Grant Balfour.

Tampa Bay starter David Price allowed four runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings, his shortest outing since April 29 when he went 4 1/3 against the Angels.
