Blue Jays 6, Twins 1

Kyle Drabek allowed one hit in seven innings to outduel Francisco Liriano, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat up the visiting Minnesota Twins for the second day in a row, 6-1, on Saturday.

Jose Molina and Jayson Nix each hit solo homers and Travis Snider doubled in two runs for the Blue Jays, who won the season opener, 13-3, on Friday.

Drabek (1-0) did not allow until Denard Span singled with one out in the sixth. Drabek ended up striking out seven while walking three. The rookie right-hander yielded his lone run in the fourth inning on a walk, a steal and two straight groundouts.

Liriano (0-1) allowed only nine homers in 191 2/3 innings last season but surrendered two in just 4 1/3 frames Saturday. The left-hander walked five and was charged with four runs while striking out three.

Molina struck first, putting Toronto on the board with his blast to deep left in the third. After Minnesota manufactured a run in the top of the fourth, the Blue Jays got that back on Nix’s shot in the bottom of the frame.

Edwin Encarnacion added an RBI single in the fifth to chase Liriano, and Snider added his two-run double later in the frame.
