Phillies 5, Blue Jays 3

Chase Utley belted a two-run homer in the seventh inning, and Roy Halladay returned to Toronto and tossed his sixth complete game of the season as the Philadelphia Phillies recorded a 5-3 triumph over the host Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon.

Making his first appearance at the Rogers Centre since being traded to Philadelphia in December 2009, Halladay (11-3) received a lengthy standing ovation from the Toronto faithful when he took the mound in the first inning.

The two-time Cy Young Award winner allowed eight hits and struck out eight en route to his sixth straight win and tied Tampa Bay's James Shields for the major league lead in complete games.

Halladay, who pulled even with Atlanta's Jair Jurrjens for the NL lead in wins, surrendered a 2-1 advantage in the fifth inning as John McDonald and Eric Thames delivered RBI singles. But Utley put Philadelphia back ahead with two outs in the seventh as he greeted reliever Luis Perez (1-1) with his fourth blast of the year.

Philadelphia's Ryan Howard plated the game's first run with a single in the opening inning. It was the former MVP's 815th career RBI, moving him past Bobby Abreu for eighth place on the club's all-time list.

In the fourth inning, slugger Jose Bautista extended Toronto's run of consecutive games with a homer to 10 by launching his major league-leading 26th. Bautista, who has three homers and six RBIs in his last five contests, has reached safely in 71 of 76 games this season.

Blue Jays reliever Jon Rauch was ejected in the ninth for arguing with home plate umpire Alfonso Marquez after giving up Shane Victorino's RBI single.
