Indians 6, Mariners 4
Asdrubal Cabrera homered among three hits and the Cleveland Indians won their seventh straight game with a 6-4 victory over the host Seattle Mariners on Sunday.
Cabrera homered in the first and had a run-scoring single in the second and Cleveland (7-2) got solid pitching from starter Josh Tomlin while handing Seattle (2-7) its seventh straight loss.
Tomlin (2-0) allowed three runs and three hits in 6 2/3 innings as five Indians pitchers held Seattle to five hits. Chris Perez pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save as the Indians completed the three-game sweep.
Tomlin had a six-run cushion to work with after Jack Hannahan homered in the fourth off Erik Bedard (0-2), who was roughed up for six runs and 10 hits in four innings.
Tomlin allowed just two hits through six innings before being touched up for a two-run homer by Ryan Langerhans in the seventh. Seattle pulled within 6-4 later in the inning when Michael Saunders greeted reliever Chad Durbin with a homer to right.
Shelley Duncan and Michael Brantley each had run-scoring doubles in the first two innings as Cleveland began building its six-run lead.
