Indians 8, Reds 2
Asdrubal Cabrera and Carlos Santana hit back-to-back homers in the third inning, sparking the Cleveland Indians' 8-2 win over the host Cincinnati Reds on Friday.
Justin Masterson (6-6) broke an 11-start winless streak. He allowed four hits one run and struck out five in eight innings, lowering his ERA to 2.85.
Cabrera’s 14th homer and Santana’s 11th, combined with Grady Sizemore’s eighth homer in the second inning, all came off Cincinnati starter Bronson Arroyo (7-7), who allowed nine hits and eight runs in 4 2/3 innings.
Santana and Sizemore added RBIs in Cleveland’s four-run fifth that put the Indians in command, 8-1.
Brandon Phillips accounted for both Reds runs with a pair of solo homers, his seventh and eighth.
Cleveland has won all four games against Cincinnati this season in the intrastate interleague matchup.
