Rockies 5, Tigers 4

Ubaldo Jimenez earned his first victory at home this season but left with a cramp in his right calf after five innings as the Colorado Rockies recorded a 5-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.

Rookie Chris Nelson homered for the second straight game, Carlos Gonzalez had an RBI single in the second and Ty Wigginton added an RBI double in the fifth for Colorado, which won its fourth straight game.

Jimenez (2-7), who also had a two-run single in the second, was relieved in the sixth after signaling to the dugout that he was injured. He allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out five.

Four relievers bridged the gap to Huston Street, who allowed an RBI single to Brennan Boesch before securing his 20th save of the season.

Phil Coke (1-7) yielded a career-high seven walks, and four runs on five hits.

Ryan Raburn had a two-run double and Jhonny Peralta had an RBI double for Detroit, which dropped one game behind the Cleveland Indians in the ultra-competitive American League Central. The Indians posted a 5-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier Saturday.
