Giants 15, Tigers 3

Pablo Sandoval and Brandon Crawford homered in the first inning, and Miguel Tejada added his 12th career grand slam in the third as the visiting San Francisco Giants rolled to a 15-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night.

Sandoval belted a two-run homer and Crawford (three hits) added a three-run blast on the first pitches they faced as the Giants took a 5-0 lead. Tejada hit his third of the season to make it 10-0, three pitches after a 2:36 rain delay. The 15 runs is a season high for San Francisco.

Giants starter Barry Zito (2-1), pitching on three days rest, allowed five hits in six shutout innings. The Giants turned a double play for him in each of the first two innings.

Aubrey Huff added two hits and two RBIs for San Francisco, which has won nine of 11 games.

Detroit catcher Victor Martinez left the game in the fourth with a right shoulder contusion.

Jhonny Peralta and Brennan Boesch hit back-to-back homers in the seventh for the Tigers, who have lost four of five.

Tigers starter Max Scherzer (9-4) allowed eight runs - five earned - in two innings.
