Tigers 6, Giants 3
Magglio Ordonez’s two-run single in the seventh inning helped the Detroit Tigers end the San Francisco Giants' seven-game interleague winning streak with a 6-3 triumph on Sunday.
Brennan Boesch had a solo homer, a double and scored a run while Brandon Inge added a two-run triple for the host Tigers.
Ordonez has raised his average 40 points to .212 over the last 10 games, but he's still a long way from his career .309 mark.
Rick Porcello (7-6) went seven innings for the win, while Ryan Vogelsong - one of four Giants' pitchers headed to the All-Star Game - received a no-decision.
The Giants had outscored American League opponents by a 34-12 margin prior to Sunday's loss.
Porcello, who allowed 18 earned runs over his previous three starts, bounced back in a big way by allowing just five hits.
Jose Valverde notched his 20th save in as many opportunities this season.
