Brian McCann tied the game with a pinch-hit home run in the ninth inning and won it with a two-run walk-off blast in the 11th to give the Atlanta Braves a 3-1 victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday afternoon.
McCann homered with two strikes and two outs in the ninth off reliever Mark Melancon. It was the league-high 11th blown save for the Astros.
McCann connected off Jeff Fulchino (0-2) in the 11th to give the Braves their fourth straight victory.
Atlanta's Cory Gearrin (1-1) got J.R. Towles to ground into a double play with the bases loaded and one out in the 11th.
Brett Wallace belted a homer in the seventh and Wandy Rodriguez pitched eight shutout innings for Houston. Rodriguez gave up five hits, walked two and struck out six.
Hunter Pence, who made a leaping catch against the wall in the ninth, and Clint Barmes had two hits each for Houston.
Braves starter Derek Lowe went seven innings and allowed five hits.
Houston had the bases loaded with one out in the eighth, but reliever Scott Proctor got Carlos Lee to pop out and struck out Wallace.
