Diamondbacks 5, Braves 4 (11)
Justin Upton singled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning to lift the Arizona Diamondbacks over the visiting Atlanta Braves 5-4 on Wednesday.
Upton added a solo homer in the fifth inning and Kelly Johnson plated the tying run with a single in the 11th for the Diamondbacks.
After Aaron Heilman (2-0) yielded the go-ahead run in the top of the frame, Arizona got to Braves closer Craig Kimbrel (1-2) in the bottom of the 11th. Russell Branyan and Ryan Roberts hit back-to-back, one-out singles in front of Johnson, who laced a single to right for the tying run.
Upton came up next and took the first pitch he saw on the ground to second base, just enough to score Roberts from third.
Since dropping four in a row last week, the Diamondbacks have taken four of their last five.
Highly touted Atlanta rookie Julio Teheran made his second start but lasted only four innings, surrendering two runs and six hits.
