Braves 6, Mets 3
Eric Hinske's solo homer in the ninth highlighted a three-run inning as the Atlanta Braves rallied for a 6-3 win over the New York Mets on Friday at Citi Field.
Hinske connected for his sixth homer of the season off Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez (1-2), putting the ball in the first row of the right-field seats and just out of the reach of Carlos Beltran.
The Braves tacked on two insurance runs when rookie Freddie Freeman doubled to left-center.
The Braves trailed 3-1 entering the eighth, but tied the game on a solo homer by longtime Mets nemesis Chipper Jones and a Jose Reyes fielding error that allowed Dan Uggla to score.
Jonny Venters (4-0) earned the win with an inning of scoreless relief and Craig Kimbrel pitched the ninth for his 17th save of the season.
