Braves 4, Mets 1

Atlanta’s Tim Hudson allowed only one run in seven innings, as the Braves beat the New York Mets 4-1 Friday at Citi Field.

Hudson (11-7) is now 6-1 over his last eight starts and has given up just two runs over his last 14 innings. Hudson gave up three hits and struck out two in beating the Mets for the first time in three tries this season. Craig Kimbrel pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his 33rd save.

Atlanta scored its first two runs in the third on an RBI triple by Jose Constanza and a sacrifice fly by Michael Bourn. The Braves added two more in the eighth on an RBI single by Dan Uggla, which extended his hitting streak to 26 games. Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 and extended his hitting streak to 19 games.

New York, which lost its fifth straight, wasted a strong effort from starter R.A. Dickey (5-10), who allowed two runs and struck out five in seven innings.
