Justin Turner hit two home runs to help the New York Mets snap a five-game losing streak with a 11-7 victory over the visiting Atlanta Braves on Saturday.
Turner hit a solo homer in the first and a two-run homer in the fourth as the Mets overcame a 5-2 deficit. The Mets connected for four homers against Atlanta starter Tommy Hanson (11-7), with Jason Bay and Josh Thole also going deep.
Jonathon Niese (11-8) survived a five-run third inning to pick up his second win against the Braves this year. He pitched five innings, allowed 10 hits and struck out six.
Atlanta’s Dan Uggla extended his hitting streak to 27 games and Freddie Freeman extended his to 20. Uggla had three hits, including his 24th home run.
The start was delayed for 1 hour, 2 minutes because of rain.
