Braves 4, Diamondbacks 2

The Atlanta Braves got five shutout innings from struggling starter Derek Lowe and beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-2 on Friday at Turner Field.

Lowe (8-11) had lost four of his last five starts, but allowed only four hits and struck out seven to even his home record at 3-3.

Craig Kimbrel allowed two baserunners but pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his 38th save.

Michael Bourn, Brian McCann and Chipper Jones hit home runs off Arizona starter Daniel Hudson (12-9), who yielded four hits and seven runs in six innings.

Justin Upton’s two-out double in the seventh inning drove home a pair of runs for Arizona.
