Marlins 4, Rockies 1

Anibal Sanchez took a no-hitter into the ninth inning and Chris Coghlan homered to lead the Florida Marlins to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Colorado Rockies on Friday.

Gaby Sanchez added a solo blast and Sanchez chipped in an RBI fielder’s choice for the Marlins, who have won four straight.

Dexter Fowler led off the ninth with a broken-bat single between the first and second basemen to end Sanchez’s bid for his second career no-hitter. He threw his first in 2006.

Sanchez got the next batter to fly out to left and Fowler was doubled off first base before Carlos Gonzalez grounded out to end the game.

Sanchez (1-1) struck out nine and walked three while allowing one hit in a complete game. He allowed an unearned run in the first inning on a walk, a passed ball and an error but cruised through the rest of the game.

Coghlan hit a solo blast in the bottom of the first and added an RBI groundout in the second off Jhoulys Chacin (3-1).
