Marlins 5, Giants 1

Ricky Nolasco was two outs away from a shutout as the visiting Florida Marlins began their nine-game road trip with a 5-1 win over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

The Giants, who lost at home for the first time in May after winning nine straight, failed to score more than four runs through nine innings for the 17th time in 18 games.

Mike Stanton hit his 11th home run and Gaby Sanchez knocked in three runs with his third-inning double off Matt Cain (3-3), who gave up four runs on six hits over six innings.

Nolasco (4-0) gave up one run on seven hits in 8 1/3 innings with two walks and five strikeouts. The righthander has gone at least six innings in seven straight starts. He entered the game 2-0 with a 0.59 ERA in two career starts at AT&T Park.

After San Francisco loaded the bases in the ninth against Nolasco, Leo Nunez recorded the final two outs for his 18th save.
