Rangers 15, Marlins 5
Nelson Cruz drove in six runs and Adrian Beltre added four RBIs in support of Alexi Ogando as the Texas Rangers pounded the visiting Florida Marlins 15-5 on Friday.
Cruz hit his 19th home run - a three-run shot off Marlins starter Anibal Sanchez - in the third and added a three-run triple in the eighth for the second six-RBI game of his career (April 15, 2009 against Baltimore).
Beltre had an RBI single in the third, a two-run double in the fourth and an RBI double in the sixth for his third four-RBI game of the season and first since April 17.
Ogando (8-3) earned his first win since June 8 and recorded a season-high eight strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings. He didn't allow a hit until Greg Dobbs' double with two outs in the fifth. After starting 7-0, Ogando was 0-3 with a 9.31 ERA in his previous three starts before Friday.
Sanchez (6-2) lost for the first time since April 10. He allowed a season-high seven runs in 3 2/3 innings.
The Marlins had their modest two-game winning streak snapped and were denied their first three-game winning streak since May 24-26 at San Francisco.
