Phillies 1, Marlins 0
Rookie Vance Worley scattered two hits over seven innings and Michael Martinez had an RBI single in the seventh as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Florida Marlins for the sixth consecutive time with a 1-0 road triumph on Monday.
Since being recalled from the minors on June 18, the 23-year-old Worley (4-1) has allowed two runs and 13 hits in four starts. He struck out six Monday.
Playing in place of All-Star hopeful Shane Victorino, Martinez plated Domonic Brown with a single to shallow left-center as Philadelphia collected its 17th win in 24 games.
Victorino was nursing a swollen right thumb after taking an embarrassing fall during Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Although he didn't take the field Monday, the Hawaiian took the lead in the "Final Vote" among five National Leaguers for the upcoming All-Star Game.
Rookie Michael Stutes retired the side in order in the eighth inning and Antonio Bastardo worked the ninth to secure his fifth save.
Ricky Nolasco (5-5) permitted one run on six hits in seven innings for Florida, which has dropped 13 of its last 15 at Sun Life Stadium.
