Rockies 7, Marlins 4
Jason Giambi belted a three-run homer to cap a four-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Colorado Rockies defeated the visiting Florida Marlins 7-4 on Monday night.
Dexter Fowler blooped a two-out double to center and scored on a Carlos Gonzalez line-drive double down the right-field line off losing pitcher Leo Nunez (1-3).
After an intentional walk to Troy Tulowitzki, Giambi hit his 11th home run of the season off Randy Choate for his ninth career walk-off hit. It ended a long drought for Colorado, which had been 0-55 when trailing after eight innings this year.
The loss spoiled the 2,000th game for Florida manager Jack McKeon, who made his major league debut April 6, 1973, with Kansas City. McKeon is 1,035-965 overall.
Matt Belisle (7-4) got the win in relief.
Mike Stanton and John Buck each belted two-run homers to stake the Marlins to a 4-3 lead.
Tulowitzki had two hits, including a two-run homer that gave the Rockies a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the third. Chris Nelson added three hits for Colorado.
