Giants 2, Mets 0

Tim Lincecum threw seven shutout innings and Pat Burrell broke a scoreless tie with an RBI single in the sixth as the visiting San Francisco Giants beat the New York Mets 2-0 on Wednesday.

Lincecum (3-3) struck out 12 and allowed five hits and three walks, but Mets lefthander Chris Capuano (2-3) matched him before Burrell's hit and Mike Fontenot's RBI single in the seventh. Capuano allowed two runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out five.

San Francisco's Aubrey Huff, who was mired in an 0-for-20 slump before his home run in the 10th inning of Tuesday's 7-6 win, was 3-for-4 with a double.

Brian Wilson struck out two in a perfect ninth for his 10th save as Giants pitchers struck out 16.

Carlos Beltran and Ronny Paulino had two hits apiece for the Mets, who have lost five of six.

The Giants have won the first two games of the series, which concludes Thursday, by a combined three runs. San Francisco has won consecutive games for the first time since April 18-19 at Colorado.
