Mets 6, Cardinals 5 (10)
Angel Pagan's home run with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the New York Mets to a 6-5 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night.
Pagan golfed a pitch from Fernando Salas (5-4) over the right-field wall as the Mets won their second straight over the Cardinals.
The late heroics made a winner out of Jason Isringhausen (2-0), who struck out Albert Pujols, Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman in succession in the ninth and 10th as part of two scoreless innings of relief.
Carlos Beltran added a two-run shot for the Mets, his 15th of the season.
Holliday went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for St. Louis.
Cardinals starter Kyle McClellan surrendered four runs on six hits over six innings as he saw his winless streak extend to eight games. The 27-year-old hasn't won on the road since April 28.
Mets counterpart R.A. Dickey was charged with four runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings. He has only one victory in his last eight outings.
Mets outfielder Jason Bay left in the fourth inning with a tight right hamstring.
